Neurodevelopmental Outcomes From the PREVeNT Trial
CONCLUSIONS: No significant differences in developmental or autism-specific outcomes were seen between treatment groups, and no participants without epilepsy were diagnosed with ASD. This may be due to early detection of seizures, closer developmental monitoring and follow-up in the trial, and impacts of the pandemic on study participation.

Two randomised controlled phase 2 studies of the oral neutrophil elastase inhibitor alvelestat in alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency
CONCLUSIONS: Alvelestat effectively suppressed NE and its activity at both doses, but only the 240 mg twice-daily dose demonstrated relevant efficacy compared to placebo on disease activity biomarkers with a favourable safety profile. These findings support progression of the 240 mg twice-daily dose into a clinical end-point study.

Relationship Between Third-Trimester Low Maternal Blood Pressure and Small-for-Gestational-Age Birth Weight in Pregnant Individuals With Mild Chronic Hypertension
CONCLUSION: Pharmacologic treatment of mild chronic hypertension infrequently results in low BP and does not appear to be associated with delivery of a neonate with SGA birth weight less than the 5th percentile for birth weight.

Contributions of mechanical loading and hormonal changes to eccentric hypertrophy during volume overload: A Bayesian analysis using logic-based network models
Primary mitral regurgitation (MR) is a pathology that alters mechanical loading on the left ventricle, triggers an array of compensatory neurohormonal responses, and induces a distinctive ventricular remodeling response known as eccentric hypertrophy.

Antihypertensive therapy and unplanned maternal postpartum healthcare utilization in patients with mild chronic hypertension
CONCLUSION: While treatment of mild CHTN during pregnancy and postpartum was not significantly associated with overall unplanned healthcare resource utilization, it was associated with lower rates of postpartum ED and triage visits.

Blood pressure control in pregnant patients with chronic hypertension and diabetes: should <130/80 be the target?
CONCLUSION: In those with chronic hypertension and diabetes prior to 20 weeks, achieving an average goal blood pressure of

Drug-Resistant Epilepsy in Tuberous Sclerosis Complex Is Associated With TSC2 Genotype: More Findings From the Preventing Epilepsy Using Vigatrin (PREVeNT) Trial
CONCLUSIONS: Using a comprehensively phenotyped cohort followed from infancy, this study is the first to delineate genotype-phenotype correlations for epilepsy severity and onset in children with TSC.

Pregnancy Outcomes of Nifedipine Compared With Labetalol for Oral Treatment of Mild Chronic Hypertension
CONCLUSION: No significant differences in predetermined maternal or neonatal outcomes were detected on the basis of the use of labetalol or nifedipine for treatment of chronic hypertension in pregnancy.

Gene expression and ultra-structural evidence for metabolic derangement in the primary mitral regurgitation heart
CONCLUSION: The PMR heart has a global ultra-structural and metabolic gene expression pattern of decreased glucose uptake along with increased glycogen and LDs. Further studies must determine whether this presentation is an adaptation or maladaptation in the PMR heart in the clinical evaluation of PMR.

Design of the STRIVE-IPF trial- study of therapeutic plasma exchange, rituximab, and intravenous immunoglobulin for acute exacerbations of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis
BACKGROUND: Acute exacerbations of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (AE-IPF) affect a significant proportion of patients with IPF. There are limited data to inform therapeutic strategies for AE-IPF, despite its high mortality.

Spironolactone improves left atrial function and atrioventricular coupling in patients with resistant hypertension
To determine the blood pressure independent effects of spironolactone on left atrial (LA) size and function in patients with resistant hypertension (RHTN). Patients with RHTN (n = 36, mean age 55 ± 7) were prospectively recruited.

Umbilical Cord Milking Versus Delayed Cord Clamping in Infants 28 to 32 Weeks: A Randomized Trial
CONCLUSIONS: In this randomized controlled trial of UCM versus DCC among preterm infants born between 28 and 32 weeks' gestation, there was no difference in the rates of severe IVH or death. UCM may be a safe alternative to DCC in premature infants born at 28 to 32 weeks who require resuscitation.

Serum metabolomics of treatment response in myasthenia gravis
OBJECTIVE: High-dose prednisone use, lasting several months or longer, is the primary initial therapy for myasthenia gravis (MG). Upwards of a third of patients do not respond to treatment.

Myeloid Heterogeneity Mediates Acute Exacerbations of Pulmonary Fibrosis
Epidemiological evidence indicates that exposure to particulate matter is linked to the development of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) and increases the incidence of acute exacerbations of IPF.
