The UAB Campus Engagement Survey, which was administered February 6-20, 2023, collected data from faculty and staff in the academic enterprise about their workplace experiences. The results were presented on April 19.

UAB leadership is committed to making substantive changes based on the results of this Campus Engagement Survey and the surveys to follow every two to three years. Read about University-wide planned actions on the 2023 Survey Actions page.

2023 Engagement Survey Timeline



School/College or Unit leaders received survey data specific to their area and have been asked to:

  • Meet internally with other leaders in that area to discuss results. (by June 1, 2023)
  • Share results and provide space for dialogue with all faculty and staff in that area (by October 1, 2023)
  • Develop action plans and goals that will be submitted to senior leadership (by December 1, 2023)
  • Follow up and assess progress on goals quarterly (ongoing through 2024)
