Dr. Roger H. Sublett became Union Institute & University’s president In April 2003. He first joined UI&U as interim vice president for national undergraduate programs in 2001, and a year later was appointed as the university’s chief operating officer. Before joining Union, Sublett served as the director of the W. K. Kellogg Foundation’s Kellogg National Fellowship/Leadership Program at the foundation’s headquarters in Battle Creek, Michigan. He has authored, co-authored, or edited four books discussing leadership and lessons learned through the Kellogg Foundation, including the latest volume, Leading from the Heart. Dr. Sublett’s prior positions include associate vice president for Academic Affairs, dean of the College of Graduate and Continuing Studies, and director of special programs in the College of Alternative Programs, all at the University of Evansville. He began his career in higher education as a professor of history at Oakland City College in Indiana. He earned his BSE and M.A. degrees from the University of Arkansas, and his Ph.D. with a focus on American history from Tulane University in New Orleans.
