Taylor Abel has been an environmental, health, and safety professional for 20 years. He has spent his career in various businesses of the crop nutrition industry, including mining, manufacturing, and worldwide distribution. He has worked closely with the key stakeholders to build EHS programs, and integrate them into the business to drive a safer work environment and assure compliance. From 2007 to 2011, as Assistant Vice President Health, Safety & Security in Mosaic’s Phosphate Business Unit, Abel assisted in creation of the company safety strategy and lead its execution in the Business Unit to create a cultural change and significant reduction in injuries. He served as director of EHS for Mosaic’s global supply chain from 2004 to 2007. Prior to this position he was in various roles in the environmental and safety field at Cargill. Mr. Abel has a B.S. in Environmental Engineering from University of Florida, a M.S. in Engineering Management from University of South Florida, and is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Florida. He is currently assistant vice president for EHS Performance Improvement at The Mosaic Company, where he has responsibility for contractor safety programmatic improvements as well as leading the implementation of an EHS Management Systems (ISO14001 & OHSAS18001) across the company. He also serves on the State Emergency Response Commission of Florida.
