Tanya Correya is majoring in Neuroscience with minors in chemistry, Spanish and biology. She is a pre-med in the Science and Technology Honors Program. Her research focuses on the incidence of type 1 diabetes and the occurrence of peripheral neuropathy. As the founder and president of Wings, a UAB student organization, she is interested in helping young girls in inner-city schools have access to feminine hygiene products. She is a volunteer at Crisis Center and Children’s Hospital. In her free time, Tanya loves to draw, read, swim, play tennis and watch Netflix.
