UAB CFRB members comprise an interdisciplinary group of over 100 investigators from 7 UAB schools, 21 departments and partnering institutions. Faculty oversee research projects spanning multiple areas spanning marine ecosystems to human health and disease. Ongoing projects, comprising basic and translational efforts, include understanding mechanisms of redox signaling involving reactive oxygen, nitrogen, sulfur, lipid and halogen species and delineating the effects of these species in the following, broadly defined, areas:
