The UAB Minority Health & Health Equity Research Center (MHERC) is a comprehensive research, training/career development, and community engagement center focused on eliminating the health inequalities experienced by racial and ethnic minorities locally, regionally, and nationally and working toward achieving health equity. Under the themes of building trust, sharing power, and eliminating racial bias and discrimination, the center accomplishes its mission by fostering partnerships with academic schools and centers, historically black colleges and universities, state agencies, community organizations, and grassroots groups and serves as an infrastructure that supports interdisciplinary research on minority health and health equity.
