Sumayah Abed, M.D., assistant professor, spent many evenings in 2021 translating commonly used medical documents into Arabic to better care for her Arabic-speaking patients at the UAB Hoover Family and Community Medicine Clinic.
Community: AHEC and Community Partners Provide Door-to-Door Vaccinations and Education
Beginning in May 2021, UAB Equal Access Alabama students began volunteering their time to drive to rural areas across Alabama to deliver care and answer questions about the vaccine in partnership with Alabama Statewide AHEC and other community partners.
