Danny Lee Danny Lee, clinical research administrator II in the University of Alabama at Birmingham Department of Neurosurgery, has been named a 2025 honoree for the UAB Values in Action Program (VIP).

The UAB VIP Award recognizes non-faculty employees who demonstrate the university’s We CARE Shared Values—Collaborate, Act with Integrity, Respect All and Excel—as outlined in the Forging Ahead strategic plan. Honorees are selected for their lasting impact on UAB’s culture and community.

Each quarter, three staff members are chosen for the honor by a selection committee composed of individuals from across campus and UAB Hospital. Recipients are nominated by their colleagues in recognition of their dedication and service.

Lee’s contributions extend beyond his role in regulatory compliance and the management of both industry-sponsored and investigator-initiated studies. He has also become a mentor to junior members of the Department of Neurosurgery’s Office of Research, providing guidance, training and real-world examples to help them navigate and grow in their roles.

“Danny is a pleasure to work with and always goes the extra mile,” said Anna Munger, director of clinical research administration. “He effectively works independently, setting deadlines and goals, and always ensures those around him are informed and included in the process.”

Lee’s commitment to excellence and mentorship exemplifies the core values celebrated by the UAB VIP Award.
