Sixteen outstanding faculty members have been named recipients of the 2020 Dean’s Excellence Awards in the areas of teaching, research, service, mentorship, and diversity.
Nancy Tofil, M.D., M.Ed., is the senior faculty winner of the 2020 Dean’s Excellence Award in Education. Tofil is a professor and director for the Division of Pediatric Critical Care, and senior associate program director for the Pediatric Residency Program.
Namasivayam Ambalavanan, M.D., professor in the Department of Pediatrics and co-director of the Division of Neonatology, is the senior faculty winner of the 2020 Dean’s Excellence Award in Research.
Matthew Alexander, Ph.D., is the junior faculty winner of the 2020 Dean’s Excellence Award in Research. Alexander is an assistant professor in the Department of Pediatrics.
Chrystal Rutledge, M.D., assistant professor in the Department of Pediatrics, is the junior faculty winner of the 2020 Dean’s Excellence Award in Service.

The School of Medicine’s Office for Diversity and Inclusion hosted its third annual Diversity Fair Jan. 25, 2019 in the atrium of North Pavilion. Hundreds of guests attended and enjoyed wandering among the booths to sample cuisines while listening to the sound of international music.
