The UAB Service Awards honor those who have made a significant career commitment to the university. It celebrates employees who have completed five or more years of service at UAB, and every five years after that.

"I am so very thankful to each of my colleagues for the commitment to our students, patients, and community that they demonstrate every day," said Irfan Asif, M.D., chair of the Department of Family and Community Medicine. "As UAB strives to be a world-class academic health system, I am thrilled to celebrate the people who pour their passion into primary care across our clinical, educational, and research missions."

In 2025, close to 1,100 UAB employees were eligible for service award recognition. We appreciate the ongoing dedication of our Family and Community Medicine and Sports & Exercise Medicine team members to the continued success of our mission and vision.
