Jui Paul, MS-2 and one of the race organizers, said students raised $21,000 for the clinic from race registration fees and sponsorships. A total 437 people registered for this year’s event.

“We were thrilled with the participation and support from the UAB and Birmingham community this year. We feel so blessed to have so many people come out for our clinic,” Paul said.

Organizers also hosted a clerkship completion among departments within the School of Medicine and UAB Hospital. With 49 registered participants, the Department of Surgery was the 2016 competition winner, followed by the Department of Medicine in second place and the Department of Radiation Oncology in third.
