The commencement ceremony for the UAB Heersink School of Medicine is Saturday, May 14 in Bartow Arena, 617 13th St. South. Doors open at noon, and the ceremony begins at 1 p.m.

Alison J. Whelan, M.D., chief academic officer for the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC), is this year’s guest speaker. In her role, Whelan oversees efforts that prepare and assist deans, faculty leaders, educators, and future physicians for the challenges of 21st century academic medicine.
A special military promotion ceremony for students entering the Armed Forces will begin at 10 a.m. on May 14 inside the Bartow Arena Green & Gold Room.
