The Marnix E. Heersink Institute for Biomedical Innovation held a Lunch and Learn with Dharitri Rath, Ph.D. on Friday, July 15. Rath, an assistant professor at the Department of Chemical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Jammu, was introduced by Rubin Pillay, M.D., Ph.D., executive director of the Marnix E. Heersink Institute of Biomedical Innovation, assistant dean for Global Health Innovation, and chief innovation officer, UAB Health System. The presentation titled "Design of Paper-based Devices for Affordable Diagnostics" covers modern methods of providing point-of-care diagnostics at or near patient care in various settings.
