Medical students to host charity golf tournament

golf tourney stockUAB medical students will host the Student Senate Charity Golf Tournament to benefit the Exceptional Foundation at 8 a.m. Saturday, May 16 at the Highland Park golf course, 3300 Highland Ave. South in Birmingham.

The tournament is a scramble-style format with four-member teams.  Check-in begins at 7 a.m.  before the 8 a.m. tee time.

The Exceptional Foundation is a non-profit organization offering social and recreational opportunities to adults with physical or mental disabilities. The first year class volunteered with the Exceptional Foundation as a part of their orientation last summer and decided to host a fundraising event for the organization.

Cost to participate for teams is $500. Discounted prices will be given for alumni teams ($400) and medical student teams ($300). Costs include breakfast, lunch provided by Chick-fil-A, an event T-shirt and admission to the after party at Pale Eddie’s following the tournament.

Registration deadline is May 1. Individuals interested in signing up can download the team registration form. Online tax-deductible registration payments can be completed by donating directly to the Exceptional Foundation using the following link: http://www.exceptionalfoundation.org/#!donate-now/c1r3r. Payments can also be made directly to the Exceptional Foundation by check or over the phone (205-870-0776) via credit card.
