The Volker Hall Lecture Tower is now open for use. After more than a year of renovation, the spaces have been refreshed and updated to accommodate the needs of modern medical education. Please see below for details on what has been updated and some logistical information for use in the space moving forward.

As school activities transition back into the tower, please note that not all rooms or features are online at this time. Most entrances and exits are accessible but please pay attention to posted signage for doors that are still offline for construction. We appreciate your patience as we put the finishing touches on these newly renovated facilities.

Lecture Rooms

All five lecture rooms have received updates spanning from new technology to new furnishings. They have been repainted and fixed with updated wifi, new seating, carpet, screens, and cameras. All lecture rooms are open 7 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Friday and are restricted to badge access outside those hours of operation.

Please note that Lecture Room E is still offline at this time. Additionally, the doors at the rear of Lecture Room A are currently for emergency egress only due to continued construction on the second floor.

The Pit area has been refreshed with completely updated bathrooms, a new market-style vending area, tables and chairs, and sitting nooks. The space has also been configured with sound dampening panels and a brand-new accessibility ramp. Some fixtures still need to be installed, so be on the lookout for that in the near future. The Pit is open for anyone to use as a lounge area. The space may be reserved for events with approval.

The newly constructed conference space will come online to replace the Palmisano Conference Room that was closed to accommodate construction of the skybridge. The conference room is available by reservation only. Department of Medical Education meetings and curriculum meetings will have priority booking.

Reservations

As activities transition back into the Lecture Tower, please email Kate Pugh (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) for reservation needs until all spaces are built out in EMS.
