Professional man in blue blazer and white shirtThe University of Alabama at Birmingham Department of Neurosurgery welcomes Mason Aldridge, MSN, RN, as an advanced practice provider (APP).

Aldridge’s background displays a deep commitment to service and professionalism through nursing. He received his Master of Science in Nursing with a family nurse practitioner concentration from the University of Alabama in May 2026.

Prior to becoming a nurse practitioner, he worked as a registered nurse in the Cardio-Pulmonary Critical Care Unit at UAB Hospital for three years and for one year as a registered nurse in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at the Mayo Clinic Hospital's St. Marys Campus, located in Rochester, Minn. He also serves on the board of directors for the Alabama State Nurses Association.

Outside of nursing work, he enjoys traveling, spreading quality time with others and running. He plans to run the BHM26.2 marathon this October.

In his role, Alridge will be supporting James Garber Galbraith Endowed Chair of Neurosurgery James Markert, M.D., MPH, an expert brain tumor surgeon.
