The University of Alabama at Birmingham Department of Neurosurgery is pleased to welcome LaToya Turner (left) and Courtney McSlarrow (right).
With more than 18 years of experience in the healthcare industry, Turner joins the department as a revenue cycle manager. Recently relocating to Birmingham from Georgia, she brings a wealth of clinical, technical and operational knowledge to her role.
Beyond her professional expertise, Turner is deeply committed to community service and finds great fulfillment in giving back.
Outside of work, she is a culture enthusiast who enjoys visiting museums and attending live concerts, car shows and sporting events. An avid DIYer and HGTV fan, Turner always has a home project or a new book in hand.
Above all, she treasures time spent traveling and exploring with her daughters.
McSlarrow joins the department as an administrative office specialist II.
A native of Eufaula, Alabama, McSlarrow earned her bachelor’s degree in journalism from Auburn University in May 2012.
She began her career in local broadcast journalism, working as a digital content producer at WTVM News Leader 9 in Columbus, Georgia, and later at WMC Action News 5 in Memphis, Tennessee.
After moving to Birmingham in 2019 to be closer to family, McSlarrow continued to expand her professional experience, serving as an administrative assistant at Altec Industries and working in the marketing department at America’s First Federal Credit Union.
Outside of work, McSlarrow is an avid Auburn Tigers fan and enjoys attending concerts with her husband.
