James “Jim” West, M.D., has joined the University of Alabama at Birmingham Department of Neurosurgery as a neuroendovascular fellow.
West earned his bachelor of science in agricultural and biological engineering from the University of Florida before obtaining his medical degree from Florida International University.
He completed his neurology residency at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, followed by a fellowship in neurocritical care at Duke University.
West relocated to Birmingham with his wife, Caitlin, their two-and-a-half-year-old son, Leo, and their six-month-old daughter, Emi.
