The University of Alabama at Birmingham Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology has established its position as one of the nation’s premier residency and research institutions, securing top positions in the newly released Doximity 2026–2027 Top Obstetrics and Gynecology Programs rankings.
In the national survey, UAB OB/GYN earned the #9 spot nationally for clinical training and earned #20 for research excellence. The high marks highlight the department’s dual commitment to improving elite clinicians and trailblazing high-impact medical discoveries.
The national rankings were determined through a comprehensive survey of more than 20,000 physicians across the country, who nominated residency programs offering excellent clinical preparation across 28 medical and surgical specialties.
