In 2025, the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery continued to show that caring for people goes beyond patient care. Throughout the year, we made space to support our staff, faculty, and trainees through moments of connection, appreciation, and wellness, recognizing that a supported team is essential to the work we do every day.
From wellness-focused gatherings like the Tailgate for Wellness Luncheon and division-wide wellness events at OSB and Children’s, to shared celebrations such as the Thanksgiving Luncheon, a holiday get-together for staff and families, and participation in the 2025 UAB Homecoming Parade, these moments reflected the heart of our department. As we look ahead to 2026, we remain committed to fostering a culture rooted in care, community, and well-being, both for our teams and the patients we serve.
