Samuel Borak, M.D.On June 4, the Department of Pathology hosted its ninth annual C. Bruce Alexander Lecture in Pathology Education featuring Samuel Borak, M.D., an assistant professor in the UAB Community Practice Pathology Program. Borak delivered the lecture "Academic medicine in the community practice setting and the ever changing landscape of pathology."

A mentor himself of many residents during his time at UAB Pathology, Dr. C. Bruce Alexander was present for the lecture. The lecture honors Alexander for his many years of service to the Department of Pathology's teaching mission in undergraduate medical education and resident and fellow education.

Borak, who was recently named president of the Alabama Association of Pathologists and elected as chair of the Alabama delegation to the CAP House of Delegates, trained with Dr. Alexander before his retirement in 2014.

Dr. Brandi McCleskey, M.D., Vice Chair for Education, Associate Residency Program Director, and an associate professor in the Division of Forensics, introduced Dr. Borak.
