PA Day(l-r) Ashley Mendoza, Claudia Nieves-Narvaez, Jessica Doyle. (back) Joseph BeganyApril 14 marks the 13th annual Pathologists’ Assistant (PA) Day, led by the American Association of Pathologists’ Assistants. PAs are often responsible for the efficient and effective operation of the anatomic pathology service and play a critical role in the delivery of healthcare services in both surgical pathology and autopsy.

We are celebrating our hardworking PAs, Joseph Begany and Jessica Doyle, two PA students, Claudia Nieves-Narvaez and Ashley Mendoza, and Steven Williams and Scott Young who serve our CPPP sites.

"Pathologists’ Assistants are the backbone of our gross room and an essential part of the care we provide every patient. Your technical expertise, thoughtful judgment, and commitment to accuracy are essential to everything we do in anatomic pathology," said Michel Kmeid, M.D., Assistant Professor, Anatomic Pathology, Medical Director, Gross Room. "You handle complex and challenging work with professionalism, teamwork, and care that directly supports high-quality patient outcomes. Your work may not always be visible, but its impact is profound. We are incredibly fortunate to work alongside such dedicated individuals, and we thank you for the vital role you play."
