In this leadership role, Cooper will support residents in both internal medicine and pediatrics while working closely with program leadership to strengthen education, mentorship and collaboration within the Med-Peds program. “I’m so excited to have the opportunity to give back to the Med-Peds program and categorical programs that have given me so much,” said Cooper. “I’m humbled and grateful to be given the chance to become part of the leadership for the best Med-Peds program there is, with outstanding faculty, residents and staff.”

Cooper’s selection reflects his passion for resident advocacy, collaborative care and service, as well as the culture of excellence within UAB’s Med-Peds program. His leadership will help support trainees and continue the program’s strong tradition of training physicians dedicated to caring for patients across the lifespan.
