dsa aspen2026The University of Alabama at Birmingham Department of Pediatrics is proud to recognize Saskia D’Sa, M.B.B.S., fellow in the Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology, for receiving the American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition’s ASPEN26 Travel Award for Pediatric GI Fellows. D’Sa is one of four fellows selected nationwide to attend the ASPEN 2026 Nutrition Science & Practice Conference in Long Beach, California, Feb. 14 - 17, 2026.

The award supports early career clinicians who care for pediatric GI patients and demonstrate a strong interest in pediatric nutrition. Recipients gain access to educational and networking opportunities designed to strengthen their expertise in clinical nutrition.

The American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition, founded in 1975, is an international professional organization whose members include dietitians, nurses, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, physicians, PAs, researchers, scientists and students involved in clinical nutrition support, education and research.

ASPEN’s mission is to improve patient care by advancing the science and practice of clinical nutrition and metabolism. The organization’s vision is a world in which every patient receives safe, effective and high-quality nutrition care.
