We are pleased to announce that Mark Reynolds Jones has joined the Department of Pediatrics leadership team as director of Pediatrics Business Services.
Due to the scope of the Epic project, its significant revenue impact and the wind-down of IDX accounts receivable, the department is expanding revenue cycle leadership to support these critical efforts.
In this role, Jones will partner closely with the leadership team to strengthen operational alignment, provide oversight for managers and staff and help guide key transition priorities. He will focus on operations and transition planning, working in close collaboration with Jan Gentry, who will lead the Epic billing build for the revenue cycle while also providing support and guidance across all revenue cycle activities to help optimize outcomes.
This transition is part of a gradual succession plan designed to ensure continuity and long-term stability for the revenue cycle and the financial operations of the Department of Pediatrics. The transition is projected to take place over the next 12 to 18 months.
“After years of working alongside the Department of Pediatrics, I am truly honored to step into the role of director of Business Services,” said Jones. “The opportunity to support and strengthen the specialized care delivered by our physicians and providers to the region’s most vulnerable children is a tremendous privilege.”
Jones brings more than 30 years of experience in healthcare operations, revenue cycle performance and organizational leadership. He has worked with the Department of Pediatrics for many years through his roles as a business analyst within the department and as an account manager for DST Health Solutions, a former billing vendor for more than 25 years.
We are excited to have Jones supporting this important work. Please join us in welcoming him to the team!
