The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Department of Pediatrics is proud to announce that David Taylor, M.D., first-year fellow in the Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology, has been selected as the inaugural Children’s of Alabama Global Health Fellow Scholar, beginning in July 2026.
The Children’s of Alabama Global Health Fellow Scholars program is a new initiative designed to provide pediatric subspecialty fellows with focused training and hands-on experience in global health during the final two years of fellowship. Through the program, fellows gain a deeper understanding of global health principles and develop skills to deliver culturally sensitive and competent care in resource-limited settings.
The program includes a combination of overseas fieldwork at a Children’s of Alabama partner site, formal coursework in global health and additional didactic training through UAB.
As part of the program, Taylor will partner with Children’s Cancer Hospital Egypt 57357 to complete his global health training, contributing to international efforts to improve care for children with cancer.
Please join the department in congratulating Taylor on this exciting opportunity.
