DeRose is completing her PGY-3 residency year and is a graduate of the Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine in Dothan, Alabama.

“I have huge shoes to fill following Dr. Berry, but I am humbled and honored to serve as the administrative chief resident for the upcoming year. Advocating for my co-residents and building the strongest, most well-rounded program has always been important to me, so I am excited to be in a position to create more positive changes,” DeRose said.

Christian is also completing her PGY-3 residency year and is a graduate of the Campbell University Jerry M. Wallace School of Osteopathic Medicine in Lillington, North Carolina.

“I’m excited to help foster academic growth while encouraging curiosity and a deeper understanding of the breadth of PM&R. I am honored that the faculty and my peers entrusted me with this role, and I look forward to serving them and the department this upcoming year,” Christian said.

“Our chief residents serve as leaders, teachers and role models for our program and department. Drs. DeRose and Christian will work with our current chiefs over the next few months to ensure a smooth transition before they officially take over the responsibilities. A big thank-you to Dr. David Berry and Dr. Ian Cummins for their hard work, dedication and leadership over the past year,” said PM&R Residency Program Director Dale Colorado, D.O.

Outside of clinical responsibilities, both residents enjoy staying active and pursuing various hobbies.

DeRose enjoys rowing, watercolor painting, UGA football, NCAA gymnastics and golden retrievers. Her career interests include spinal cord injury and pain management. Christian enjoys hiking with her dog, backpacking, cooking and weightlifting. Her career interests include sports medicine, pain medicine, spine and MSK.
