honor seal new 600 x 450UAB recently recognized 40 individuals for their years of service in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neurobiology, ranging from five years to 35 years. The UAB and UAB Medicine Service Awards honor employees who have made a significant career commitment to UAB, with recognition happening at every five-year milestone.

The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neurobiology had eight individuals recognized for 20 or more years of service for 2025, marking longstanding dedication within the department. They are Jacqueline Feldman, M.D., Charles Ford, M.D., and Nathan B. Smith, M.D. (35 years); Stephen Davis (25 years); and Russell Butler, April Michelle Charles, Peter Penherski, M.D., and April Rich. (20 years).

"Their commitment, expertise, and loyalty are the foundation of our department’s excellence,” said Adrienne Lahti, M.D., professor and chair of the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neurobiology. “Each milestone represents years of service to our patients, our learners, and one another, and we are deeply grateful for the lasting impact these individuals have made on UAB.”
