The UAB Department of Radiology is pleased to announce the installation of two new advanced MRI systems at The Kirklin Clinic MRI Imaging Center. These state-of-the-art magnets replace older systems and enhance the center’s imaging capabilities.
"We are fortunate to be supported by a fantastic MRI team and referring colleagues who continue to support our mission of outstanding imaging services," said Manoj Tanwar, M.D., chief of MRI. "Providing high-quality imaging to our patients is a priority for our group and the department."
The new units supplement the center’s three existing MRI machines and are expected to significantly improve image quality and reduce turnaround times, particularly for complex ambulatory patients. With many of UAB’s ambulatory clinics located at The Kirklin Clinic and the O’Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center, expanding access to high-quality MR imaging is essential to meeting patient needs efficiently and effectively.
