Learn more about his journey and what inspires his work.
What inspired you to pursue a career in this field?
Evans: I enjoy that radiology is central in helping patients reach a diagnosis, both through the interpretation of imaging and through diagnostic procedures. I am interested in the rapidly evolving technology within our field and the opportunity radiology provides for collaboration with other specialties.
What is your primary area of expertise within your field, and what sparked your passion for it?
Evans: My area of expertise is in musculoskeletal imaging, with a particular interest in oncologic imaging. I believe my prior research experience in molecular medicine and cancer biology has given me a unique perspective, which I hope to share as I contribute both to patient care and multidisciplinary translational research here at UAB.
What aspects of your new role here are you most excited about?
Evans: I am most excited about the high volume and complexity of musculoskeletal oncology cases at UAB. I am looking forward to the opportunity to provide excellent patient care while working and learning alongside the multidisciplinary oncology team.
What are your goals for making an impact through both your teaching and patient care in this role?
Evans: As an Alabama native, the opportunity to stay at UAB and to continue to care for the people of Alabama is especially important to me. I am excited for the opportunity to contribute to our excellent resident training program and to empower the next generation of radiologists in our state.
