UAB Hospital-Highlands has completed a CT expansion project aimed at improving access and efficiency for patients across care settings. With the addition of a second CT scanner, the facility is now better equipped to serve a growing outpatient population while continuing to provide timely imaging for inpatient and emergency department patients.

“This project will enhance our ability to care for patients across multiple settings,” said Jeff McGough, MSHA, CRA, senior director of imaging services. “The expansion will improve scheduling flexibility, reduce wait times, and support more efficient patient flow throughout the hospital.”

The project also includes the addition of a portable CT unit to assist with image-guided and other invasive procedures. The technology is expected to improve precision and convenience during procedures.

Together, the upgrades represent an investment in patient access, clinical efficiency, and advanced imaging capabilities at UAB Hospital-Highlands.
