Adam Beck, M.D.Dr. Adam Beck, director of the UAB Division of Vascular Surgery and Endovascular Therapy, has been elected as the Chief of Medical Staff-elect (COMS-elect) for UAB Medicine. 

Beck will begin his one-year term in January 2026, and will subsequently serve a 3-year term as Chief of Medical Staff. In this role, he will help guide clinical leadership across the health system, represent the active medical staff at UAB, and strengthen communication between physicians and hospital administration.

A busy clinician, Beck treats a broad spectrum of vascular conditions, with particular expertise in the management of complex aortic diseases.

Beck earned his medical degree from the UAB Marnix E. Heersink School of Medicine, completed his general surgery residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and pursued fellowship training in vascular surgery at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center. He also completed additional training in advanced endovascular techniques for aneurysmal disease at the University Medical Center Groningen in the Netherlands.  

In addition to leading the Division of Vascular Surgery and Endovascular Therapy, Beck has served as associate chief medical quality officer and quality director for the UAB Cardiovascular Institute. He is also actively involved in training vascular surgery residents/fellows, general surgery residents, and medical students across UAB.  

Beck is also an engaged clinical investigator and national and international leader in quality initiatives. He currently chairs the Society for Vascular Surgery's Vascular Quality Initiative (SVS VQI) the International Consortium of Vascular Registries (ICVR) and is a founder of the Southeastern Vascular Study Group. His research focuses on the development and evaluation of new medical devices and on improving outcomes for patients undergoing vascular procedures.
