The UAB Department of Surgery is pleased to announce the recent promotion of nine faculty members.
The following Department of Surgery faculty were recognized for their many contributions through their promotions, which are effective as of Thursday, October 1, 2026:
- James Donahue, M.D. - Professor
- Lily Gutnik, M.D., MPH - Associate Professor
- Zain Hashmi, M.D. - Associate Professor
- Robert Hollis, M.D., MSPH - Associate Professor
- Joshua Richman, M.D., Ph.D. - Professor
- Jarrad Rowse, M.D. - Associate Professor
- Robert Sorabella, M.D. - Associate Professor
- Danielle Sutzko, M.D., M.S. - Associate Professor
- Jon P. Winkler, M.D., Ph.D. - Associate Professor
Robert Hollis, M.D., MSPH, and Robert Sorabella, M.D., were also awarded tenure.
