- On-site Docking Training: This portion of the program is designed to train participants to set up the system safely and effectively for clinical application. There is a two-page docking overview that reviews the proper set-up and docking procedure available on-line. This document is to be reviewed prior to the docking practicum and demonstration.
- On-site System Skills Practicum: This portion of the training is designed to assess system skills during surgical training. Participants will be evaluated using focused assessment forms during cases. Skills evaluated will include but need not be limited to: camera manipulation, instrument utilization, dexterity, suturing, tissue manipulation, and knot tying.

Log-on to DaVinci Surgery Community Website using your username and password

Select “Groups from the menu

Select “Residents”

Open the “Residency Training Program” folder

Open the folder corresponding to the “Standard” or “S” system. (You will be required the module for both systems)

Once in the appropriate folder, open the “Hands-On Lab Session” folder and download the documents entitled “Docking Practicum” and “Surgical Skills Drills Practicum”

Read and understand the principles emphasized in these documents and be prepared to apply these principles in your scheduled hands-on OR lab session at which time you will need to be able to demonstrate these skills.

Return to the “Hands-On Lab Session” folder and click on the “Evaluation—Module Two” link.

Complete the evaluation and submit to the Residency Education Coordinator.
