Program Goal
To prepare residents for both the ASCCP exam and future patient care by learning basic colposcopic techniques and reviewing both normal and abnormal cervical cytology, histology, colposcopic images, and management algorithms.
Objectives
At the conclusion of this course, residents will be able to:
- Efficiently evaluate and describe any colposcopic lesion in a clinically relevant manner.
- More accurately identify and describe cervical epithelium including Normal, HPV changes, CIN 1, CIN 2, CIN 3, AIS, and cancer.
- More accurately identify and describe normal and abnormal cervical cytology and histology.
- Understand and apply management algorithms including 2006 colposcopic and cytologic guidelines and changes with respect to pregnancy and adolescent guidelines.
- Improve individual ASCCP exam scores.
