UAB Callahan Eye Hospital recently completed a renovation of suite 410. Before renovations, this space was home to the Department of Dermatology Administration and Suite 406.
Construction began in February 2017 and opened to patients in July. The space covers 5310 square feet, not including the breakroom and pediatric waiting area.
Jason Swanner, MD, and Sarah Jacobs, MD, currently see patients in this space, but beginning early next year this clinic will also begin seeing pediatric patients under the care of Martin Cogen, MD, Arciniegas, MD, Sarah Lee, OD, and Marcela Frazier, OD.
“The new space was custom designed to deliver the highest quality clinical experience to our patients, while maximizing our operational efficiencies,” says Rett Grover, Interim Chief Executive Officer of UAB Callahan Eye Hospital. “We incorporated 14 exam rooms, a diagnostic center with state-of-the-art imaging equipment and a minor procedure room equipped to perform minimally invasive surgical procedures. The new fourth floor clinic will serve a variety of ophthalmology sub-specialties including pediatrics, glaucoma, oculoplastics, and comprehensive ophthalmology.”
