UAB has the first and only facial nerve program in the state of Alabama. Our Facial Nerve Clinic comprises a team of physicians who have expertise in the treatment of facial nerve injuries and other facial nerve disorders. As one of the largest tertiary care centers in the Southeastern Region, UAB is equipped to treat a wide range of conditions affecting facial nerve function.

Our service line provides a comprehensive approach that integrates the most cutting edge therapies for such facial nerve disorders, spanning from rehabilitation to medical management to surgical repair. The multidisciplinary team includes microvascular surgeons, craniofacial surgeons, radiologists, advanced practice providers, therapists, nurses, and other specialists who utilize the most advanced technology to diagnose and manage facial nerve disorders. Our model involves a thorough initial assessment of each case, followed by same-day testing and/or intervention if necessary.  Through our collaborative efforts, we implement personalized treatment plans that best fits the needs of our patients.
