Interests

My translational research program seeks to understand how commensal fungi, the mycobiome, influence newborn physiology and disease, principally via exploring the gut-lung axis in bronchopulmonary dysplasia. Willis Lung Lab is supported by the NIH NHLBI K08HL151907, the UAB Microbiome Center and UAB Pediatrics.
