More than 1,200 interns, residents and fellows train in every medical specialty at UAB in Birmingham, at our regional campuses in Montgomery, Huntsville and Tuscaloosa, and in our program in Selma.

In an ongoing series, the Department of Surgery will feature incoming and outgoing trainees for all UAB Surgery programs. This week, learn about those joining and leaving the Vascular Surgery Integrated Residency Program and the Vascular Surgery Fellowship.

This year, the UAB Vascular Surgery Integrated Residency Program welcomes Jacob Weber, M.D., from the Oregon Health & Science University School of Medicine, while the Vascular Surgery Fellowship program welcomes one new fellow: Andrew Kimball, M.D.

As Weber prepares to enter the Vascular Surgery Integrated Residency, outgoing UAB integrated vascular surgery resident William C. Jackson, D.O., is leaving the program for private practice at McLeod Physician Associates in Florence, South Carolina. Meanwhile, Daniel J. Torrent, M.D., who started his vascular surgery fellowship training at UAB in 2017, is now heading into private practice at the North Atlanta Vascular Clinic and Vein Center in Johns Creek, Georgia.
