The UAB Trauma and Surgical Critical Care Fellowship will welcome four new fellows next year: Cragin Currence, M.D., Zain Hashmi, M.D., Jacey Loberg, M.D., and Thomas Muse, M.D.

Currence will join the program after completing his general surgery residency at South Carolina’s Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System, and Hashmi will join after finishing his training Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland.

Meanwhile, Loberg and Muse are preparing to graduate from their residency programs at Ascension St. John Hospital in Detroit, Michigan, and Baylor Scott & White Medical Center& White Medical Center in Temple, Texas, respectively, and will begin their fellowships alongside Currence and Hashmi at UAB next summer.
