Dr. Colin Martin

UAB pediatric surgeon Colin Martin, M.D., FAAP, FACS, was recently selected by the American Academy of Pediatrics Section on Surgery Executive Committee to serve as vice chair of their Publications Committee.

Martin, who is the surgical director of the UAB/Children’s of Alabama Center for Advanced Intestinal Rehabilitation, will serve on this committee as vice chair for two years and will stay on for an additional two years to serve as chair. 

According to the AAP, their Section on Surgery Executive Committee provides programming on state-of-the-art techniques and information for pediatric surgeons, as well as makes recommendations for educational programs, policy statements and other matters pertaining to the surgical care of pediatric patients. Notable members on this committee are UAB Division of Pediatric Surgery faculty members Elizabeth A. Beierle, M.D., and Mike K. Chen, M.D.
