Halloween CandyThe General Surgery Residency Program invites all faculty and staff members to participate in a “Treat n’ Meet” event on Nov. 2 from 4 – 5:30 p.m. in Boshell Diabetes Building (BDB).

Organized by research resident Mary Smithson, M.D., this not-so spooky event is an opportunity for all Department of Surgery faculty, staff and trainees to meet, share a sweet treat, and get to know each informally, as well as visit our new office spaces.

On Monday, Nov. 2, residents will be trick or treating around the fifth and sixth floor of BDB from 4 – 5:30 p.m. No costume is required, but interested faculty and office members should bring their left-over Halloween candy to share.

To maintain the safety of all participants all UAB COVID-19 guidelines will be implemented.

Any faculty who does not have a space in BDB may set up in the common area. Those with an office or cubicle are encouraged to pass out candy and get to know our wonderful trainees.

So, round up any candy or sweet treats leftover from Halloween, or, take advantage of post-Halloween candy sales– let’s all use our sweet tooth as an excuse to connect with our residents.

Masks will be required at all times, and a steady flow of one-way traffic (in respect to six-feet guidelines) through the hallways is mandatory.
