Jones says she is honored to have been recognized by her coworkers and supervisors and wanted to share the spotlight with the rest of her burn dressing team.

“I need to recognize the true winner, the burn dressing team,” Jones said. “Believe me, their work was in no way inferior to mine. I believe we all are truly winners.”

UAB’s Burn Program Manager, Josette Cockrell, RN, BSN, MSHQS, says Jones is always ready to perform in her roles as wound care technician or patient care technician.

“Arlesia is an exceptional and outstanding employee here at UAB Hospital,” Cockrell said. “Arlesia is a jewel, a naturally genuine, good-hearted, selfless individual.”
