My project 1 78The O’Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center’s Skin & Soft Tissue Cancer Management Team in partnership with the UAB Division of Surgical Oncology has received a SARC Core Center designation from the Sarcoma Alliance for Research Through Collaboration (SARC).

This designation is reserved for institutions with a threshold volume of sarcoma cases, multidisciplinary management, and active sarcoma clinical trial program.

As a recognized oncology center, the O’Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center is only one in six in the region and one of 40 in the United States. The clinic combines specialists in medicine, surgery, radiation oncology, and other critical fields.

The Skin & Soft Cancer Management Team works with patients with soft tissue sarcomas, which can occur anywhere in the body, but most commonly in the buttocks and extremities.

Sarcoma Alliance for Research Through Collaboration (SARC)

SARC is a collaboration between researchers and investigators at sarcoma centers working to achieve advancement in sarcoma research and accelerating treatment options to improve patient outcomes and survivorship.
