Approximately 50 Department of Surgery faculty participated in the department's leadership and development retreat on Saturday, Aug. 4, at Willow Point in Alexander City, Alabama.
Jean Ann Larson, Ed.DJean Ann Larson, Ed.D., facilitated DISC assessments and led a discussion about communication and emotional intelligence. The Division of Surgical Oncology's Brenessa Lindeman, M.D., M.E.H.P., shared some strategies for wellbeing that she learned at the Transform Course at the Mayo Clinic in July, as part of the UAB Medicine Chief Wellness Officer’s Leadership Team. After the session, faculty and their families gathered for a casual barbeque dinner.
