At the start of each academic year, the Program Director and the Co-Directors for Research Training and Teaching Instruction meet with each MERIT Scholar cohort (e.g. Year 1, Year 2, etc.) separately to review the specific requirements and expectations of their respective cohort for the upcoming year. In addition, the Program Director and Co-Directors conduct monthly MERIT Scholar workshops for the entire group to learn from invited speakers about topics related to career and professional development; previous workshops have included information on using research in the classroom and crowd-funding research projects. The monthly workshops also provide opportunities for MERIT Scholars to engage in peer-peer mentoring regarding both research and teaching

Meetings are held the first Wednesday of each month at 1pm via Zoom, unless noted otherwise.
