As a Criminal Justice student, you’ll not only learn about crime and justice—you’ll also gain critical skills in analyzing and communicating. Our UAB Online Criminal Justice degree can set you on a course to succeed and serve.

Learn key skills to grow your career opportunities and serve the community—on a schedule that works for you.

Is this really the same degree on-campus students earn?

Yes. Your classes are the same. You have the same award-winning faculty of experienced criminal justice scholars and industry leaders, and your diploma will not distinguish that you were a distance learner. A bachelor’s degree is required for most state and federal criminal justice positions. While job candidates may be hired without a degree in some municipal and county agencies, career advancement may be limited.

Online. On your schedule.

One of many benefits to taking your classes online is flexibility. Online courses do not have required asynchronous lectures, so you have the freedom to view them when it’s convenient for you.

Honors Program

Nothing can strengthen your resume quite like participation in our Honors Program. Here, you’ll get to conduct research under the guidance of a specific faculty mentor. You’ll also enjoy extra seminars and other opportunities to boost your prospects as you consider a career or apply to graduate school.

Accelerated Bachelor’s/Master’s Program

Exceptional students currently enrolled in the criminal justice undergraduate degree program are encouraged to apply to the Accelerated Bachelor’s/Master’s program. This program allows a limited number of graduate courses to be counted as electives towards both the completion of your undergraduate degree and the Master of Science in Criminal Justice graduate degree.
