But, did you know that you can complete your degree completely online? Same faculty. Same courses. As a student in our online program, you’ll broaden your network by interacting with peers from other states and even other countries. Plus, because you can choose a format that fits your schedule, it’s easy to maintain your busy lifestyle while you complete your education.
Course Formats
Online courses are offered in one of two formats - synchronous or asynchronous. Your class schedule can include courses in one or a combination of the two formats. To access content you’ll log in through our learning management system. In addition, we’ll provide tools to make your experience more engaging, such as virtual classroom lectures, multimedia, chat, and discussion boards.
- Synchronous — all participants in the course log on at the same time
- Asynchronously — participants log on and participate as their schedule permits
About Our Online Courses
UAB’s online psychology courses are delivered 100 percent online. The online courses count for the same credit and appear on your transcript in the same manner as campus-based courses.
Is this really the same degree on-campus students earn?
Yes. Your classes are the same. You have the same award-winning faculty of experienced psychology experts. And your diploma will not distinguish that you were a distance learner.

Psi Chi
Enhance your education by participating in the International Honor Society in Psychology.
