Civitan Neurodevelopmental Bioinformatics Initiative

Directory Category: Core
The mission of the Civitan Neurodevelopmental Bioinformatics Initiative is to support the UAB community in the bioinformatics analysis of studies which utilize high-throughput sequencing technology. Examples from the current pipelines include, but are not limited to: transcriptomics (mRNA, whole-transcriptome, miRNA-seq, single-cell or single-nuclei RNA-seq, CITE-seq) and epigenomics (whole-genome and reduced representation bisulfite sequencing, methylated DNA immunoprecipitation sequencing, ChIP-seq). Further, the core actively seeks to add additional pipelines to accommodate newer sequencing applications.

In addition, the Civitan Neurodevelopmental Bioinformatics Initiative also provides: training opportunities through one-on-one sessions, aid in the visualization of “omics” data, assistance in the design of high-throughput studies and writing support for manuscripts and grants.
